The Blackbuck Deer is native to India and Pakistan.  Blackbuck doe do not have horns.  Blackbuck bucks have long dark horns with tight rings.  Horns twist in a corkscrew fashion up to 5 times.  Most twists are tight in symmetry. The Blackbuck is classified as an Antelope.

Mature blackbuck bucks have dark brown or black upper bodies and from the animal’s midline down are white.  Legs are dark brown or black on the outer side and white on the inside.  Blackbuck does are a light tan color throughout their life.  Babies and younger males are the same color as the does.

Approximate live weight ranges from 75 pounds to 120 pounds for bucks and females are considerably smaller.  Shoulder height of a buck is approximately 20 – 25 inches.
